DIAGONAL SCRAPPY HAPPY - Variable projects - See full description - Pattern & Kit $14 - Friday AM Class
Debra Burgess - [email protected]
Long time retreaters may remember Scrap Happy from a few years ago. Here is round 2!
The blocks will be foundation pieced. In addition to the pattern, a starter kit of foundation papers will be provided. Minimum strip width is about 1 inch. Wide strips can always be cut down or strips can be cut from odd shaped scraps. There will be several projects included in the pattern including full size paper patterns if required. In addition to a couple of quilt ideas, there will be patterns and instructions for mittens, a scarf and a zipper bag. Also bring a seam roller or bone folder to press seams at your work station if you wish. Use up odd thread.
FABRIC REQUIREMENTS (The quilts can be any size you desire)
You will need some solids for block sashing. A half yard of each of two colors should be enough for a lap size quilt. A yard of each should be good for a twin. A yard and a half to 2 yards of each solid is enough for a “big” quilt.
I will bring a box of scraps and strips and ask that each student bring at least a gallon of same.
For the zipper bag, you will need a half yard of a solid for lining and extra bits. Suggest a solid. If you want a print lining, you will need a fat quarter of lining and a fat quarter of a coordinating solid. There will be completion kits including interfacing and a zipper (many colors) for $4.
