Many of us have a tough time getting the tops basted. Getting down on the floor and crawling around trying to keep the dog and/or kitty off and out of your way. too small of a work surface. It can be kind of a hassle.
Well, this won't solve all the problems, however, it's a great opportunity to work with a friend on a 4' X 8' table at a decent height with room to walk around.
We will have a sign up sheet in 1 hour increments. The table will be set up in the craft room across the driveway from the auditorium where we quilt. Open 24 hrs a day at retreat! If you sign up with a friend it will go much faster for both of you and you can get a quilt done for each of you.
Whether you thread baste, pin baste, or spray baste, it will be much better on a bigger table at a better height. Get your tops and backs pressed (starched if you like) and batting of course. Bring all your "tools" for your kind of basting. (Maybe a little music to boogie as you baste!)
The plywood is covered with a sheet. **Quilter's Dream will provide *all the clamps *painters tape *ironing table and iron (spray bottles of course)
These pictures below are done in Yo's living room - but you get the idea!
**If you thread baste - lots of threaded needles, scissors, measuring tape, long arms and a friend helps!
**If you pin baste - bring all your opened pins, scissors, measuring tape, long arms and a friend helps!
**If you spray baste, I will have the floor coverings, and extra coverings - bring your spray and extra spray if you think you may need it, scissors, measuring tape and a friend helps!
